Mostafa Akhondi
Mr. Mostafa
Akhondi was born in Iran. He began his musical life from an early
age, practicing with traditional Iranian instruments, later moving
to the Piano. But he eventually settled on the Guitar.
He first began learning with the Moazen
Brothers. Later when moved to Germany, he attended the City of Koeln
School of music, under Professor Friedrich Peutez. He completed his
studies under Hoelger Wiemann and Jens Kienbaumm.
In 1992 he attended the specialized high
institute of music, Folkwanghochschule and continued his classical
training under Professor Leonard Beck.
By 1996 he had formed a group of graduates, from the high
institutions of classical music, and named them AVA. This group
performed in a number of concerts around Europe.
This group has also recorded a CD by the
name of Hesitation (TARDID). The inspiration for this work came from
a poem by the same name, by the famous Iranian poet Mr. Ahmad
Shomlou.
Mr. Akhondi has since played in a number of other concerts, with
various European groups and has even recorded a solo guitar album.
Since 1992 he has been engaged with the teaching of the classical
guitar, in schools of high education like theVolkshochschule.
Currently he is performing in a number of Asian classical music
concerts.
